Liberty HealthShare recently announced a reduction in its suggested monthly share amounts and member co-share requirements for several of its most popular programs. The changes took effect October 1, 2025, and are aimed at making healthcare sharing more affordable for members.

According to Liberty’s announcement, the organization has been able to lower costs by up to $26 per month and reduce member co-share amounts — the portion members are responsible for when visiting medical providers.

“When so many others in the healthcare field are increasing costs or cutting services, it is a blessing that Liberty HealthShare is in a position where we can reduce costs for our members and improve the value they get from their memberships,” said CEO Dorsey Morrow.

Highlights of the Recent Updates

  • Monthly share amounts lowered on three of Liberty’s most popular programs (up to $26 per month in savings)
  • Reduced co-share amounts for two programs, lowering what members pay at medical visits
  • 25% increase in eligible wellness expenses (effective July 1, 2025)
  • Double the sharing eligibility for alternative treatments like chiropractic, naturopathic, and acupuncture care
  • Liberty Rise program monthly share reduced by 19% (starting at $99)
  • Liberty Assist Annual Unshared Amount reduced to $500 (a two-thirds drop)

The organization credits these changes to improved financial management and the resolution of previously backlogged expenses — something Liberty says had affected members in recent years.

About Liberty HealthShare

Founded in 1995, Liberty HealthShare is one of the longest-running health sharing ministries in the country. It offers six medical cost-sharing programs designed for individuals, families, and seniors.

As of October 2025:

  • Individual share amounts range from $87–$362 per month
  • Family of four share amounts start around $319 per month
  • Most programs include telehealth visits for urgent care and mental wellness, prescription drug discounts, and no provider network restrictions

The ministry also offers Liberty Dental, a dental sharing program that begins at $35 per month and lets members choose any dentist.

Liberty HealthShare emphasizes transparency, noting its GuideStar Gold Seal (2025), Charity Navigator 4-Star Rating, and A+ BBB accreditation.

Member Experiences and Considerations

While Liberty’s cost reductions are welcome news for many, some members in past years have voiced frustration about delays in reimbursement or bill processing times. Liberty has stated that those backlogs have now been resolved and that it’s focused on improving turnaround times for medical sharing requests.

Liberty’s recent changes show a continued effort to rebuild trust and make its programs more competitive in the health-sharing space. For members and prospective members alike, these updates could make a meaningful difference in affordability — especially for families feeling the strain of rising healthcare costs elsewhere.

Health shares are not insurance and do not offer insurance coverage. Membership in a health share does not guarantee the payment or reimbursement of medical expenses. Each organization operates under its own membership guidelines, which determine what expenses may be eligible for sharing. Hello! My name is Holly, and I am so happy you have found my website! Before I left the workforce to become a stay-at-home mom, I spent 11 years working for an Investing Education company, later acquired by a large brokerage firm, where I specialized in Risk Management. With that experience, I have become very thorough with legal documents, which I used to comb through and really deep dive into each Health Share’s website to determine what medical bills are actually shareable with their members. I have created Health Share 101 to provide the information you need to make an educated decision for you and your family.
